I’m a Scottish girl through and through but my home is Italy. I moved to here in 2009 to be with my boyfriend (now fiancé). My love affair with food started long before that, but my ability to cook was limited and I certainly was no expert on Italian cuisine.
Over the years I learned and grew both in terms of palate and ability, and this blog is my way of sharing my culinary and lifestyle experiences with the world. For me food and drink are a reflection of culture and love, they are an incredibly important part of my lifestyle and my identity here.
The essence of Italian cuisine is simplicity, relying on the fresh ingredients and wonderful flavours the land provides us with. Little by little my kitchen and repertoire has become almost entirely Italian – with the odd twist on traditional dishes (like when I introduced my mother-in-law to curry) and deviation into tradtional British fare when I get a bit nostalgic.
Think of this blog as a guide if you will, while we learn to appreciate the flavours of Italy together.
With love, from Italy
